October 10 Delhi protest: permission dispute and reported security preparations

Reports say police have declined permission for the announced Jantar Mantar protest and appealed against attendance. Check current official notices, avoid confrontation and verify travel updates.

Safety notice — reviewed 8 October 2026

Delhi Police reportedly declined permission for the CJP-led protest announced at Jantar Mantar for 10 October. The Times of India’s 7 October report records the police position alongside organisers’ assurances that they would cooperate with the authorities. An acknowledgement of a notice should not be treated as verified permission.

An 8 October Siasat report, citing The Hindu, describes police outreach appealing to residents not to join the demonstration. Unprotest has not independently authenticated the underlying police notice.

UPDATE — REPORTED SECURITY PREPARATIONS

NDTV’s 8 October report, citing unnamed sources, describes 23,000 CAPF personnel and separately 20,000 Delhi Police personnel, along with barricading and possible Metro or market restrictions. These are attributed figures and forecasts. Unprotest has not verified deployment totals or confirmed station closures.

BEFORE MAKING PLANS

Check current official police and transport notices. Do not rely on an old poster, a forwarded message or a news forecast as permission or a confirmed travel restriction. Avoid confrontation, respect peaceful expression and follow lawful directions. Use official grievance routes to address electoral-roll problems.

The reviewed material does not establish an organised plan for violence. Allegations against particular individuals require their own evidence; they do not establish collective guilt.
